of the school holidays has been so topsy turvy! The kids are old enough that they entertain themselves beautifully. I took these totally cool photos of the kids building a fort in the lounge using nearly every blanket and pillow in the house. But I cant load them because the camera software is to big for the kids old desktop. And why am I posting to my blog using the kids desktop when I have this supercool expensive laptop? Because my wonderful machine died and needs a new hard drive!! Ive been assured this is not a common problem as I hit the roof and there is probably several staff at Noel Leemings who will hide when they see me coming. I mainly hit the roof because I was treated like an idiot, I had taken the laptop in because when I started it up yesterday it started up as a brand spanking new computer – everything i had installed or put on there was gone! I have everything on a portable hard drive so I wasn’t devastated at any loss. Especially of photographs – imagine losing all that!? I distract myself – lol, anyway I was told it was a software fault and therefore not covered by the warranty. So off I trotted to Online Computers where they told me that the hard drive had failed. So back to Noel Leemings to be greeted with “really, how interesting?” Never, ever patronize a stressed woman who just spent money being told she shouldn’t have had to pay money! Long and the short of it is the laptop is away and when it comes back it will be a brand new laptop in the sense the hard drive will be squeaky new. Then will come the job of reinstalling all my software and copying everything over form the portable drive.. not the most fun way to spend my day.
The weather has packed in down south and this last week has been grey and windy and cold. Perfect weather for scrapbooking, reading and watching DVD’s all of which have been done in bulk lol. The kids went to see The Spiderwick Chronicles yesterday and just loved it. Josef wants the book now!
Then we all popped into town and the children had the tremendous buzz of seeing Ashleighs unborn baby at 11.5 weeks. Due date is 5th November. The children were so very impressed – huge eyes and when the ultrasound guy put the heartbeat on the kids all laughed except Brooke, who got very worried lol.
Posting on the desktop is definitely an experience! I have an are for a single line of type – really annoying when I want to reread what I’ve written.

Isn’t technology amazing … seeing the kids faces watching the scan would have been priceless.
Yep, I remember using blankets, towels, chairs, pillows and making huts when I was a little younger … lol.
At least they are using their imagination!!!

ummmm at Noel Lemmings, tsk tsk tsk. What a pain aye. Sounds like a relaxing school holidays though. How cool about the u/s and the kids getting to be a part of that.

Gee, sometimes I just wonder if it’s better to keep my old dinosaur computer because upgrading might be more of a pain!! Seriously, I hope you get it sorted without too many issues.
Very cool about the U/S!!

Gees you wouldn’t expect that from a newbie computer – what a pain! And seriously, you should claim the money back from Noel Leeming along with a complaint. It’s disgusting that they still try the little woman act sometimes…. grrrrr (can you tell I’ve had my share of those??!
)
How wonderful that the kids were able to see the ultrasound. I was wondering how far along Ash was – sounds like it is all going nicely enough

Wow! How totally cool for the kids to see the ultra sound!! I had the chance to see my niece and nephew on the screen and it’s so different from when I had my own done LOL
Bad luck with the laptop… thank goodness you have a back up of everything!!!
And thank you for the lovely comment on my blog

How patronising can you get! Have heard similar stories from others with regard to their dealings with the same company. Yay you for giving them what for!
How cool that you took your children along for the scan! That will be something they will always remember and also make them feel a part of everything to do with their new niece or nephew.

Theres no excuse for poor service anywhere and as I have got older have gotten less tolerant about it as well. Good for you on standing up to them. Thats a fabulous ultrasound photo – no wonder the kids were amazed.
