for me… Brooke is getting confused. She has Nana – my mother and her fathers mother insists on being called Nana as well. Throw in the Nan and the poor kid doesn’t know who is who. So I’m thinking of a name I want my grandkids to call me. Gran? Gram? Grammy? Leo suggested Old Duck – he loves me Im sure ;o) What did you call your grandparents? I only had a grandfather I remember calling Grandpop. My children have a Nana and Grandpop and an Oma and Opa.
Cool news! Leo and I celebrated 10 years marriage last week. We celebrated by doing a big fat nothing lol. Seriously Leo was on call and I have been down very sick since last Tuesday. I caught a virus and its been a rollarcoaster ride of feeling not so bad and feeling absolutely rotten. So we tossed ideas around of what we wanted to do. Travel is out because we have had a budget overhaul in order to seriously save for our family holiday next year. Then I found this most awsome concert is coming – I realise its not in Invers till September but OMG – I love this mans music. Leo and I decided to postpone our 10th anniversary and have it slightly late. Dinner and a concert – bliss.
I walked down the aisle to Leo to this played on a flute – still love this song.
I will scan a photo of our wedding day and pop it up later… as promised a couple of pictures. Gosh I still love that dress lol!
This is one of my favourite photos taken of Ashleigh and I.

“Old Duck” … now that’s funny!
But I think something more along the lines of Gran, Granny, Grandma, etc. In our family, we had Nana & Grandma, Rob’s family had Nana & Gran.
Happy Anniversary to you guys! I hope you really enjoy your concert when it rolls around. Something to look forward to

Congrat on reaching ten years, thats so lovely to read. Enjoy that concert and lets face it with the way the year is going it will fly by and it wont be long to your special dinner and concert. Hmmm we are more traditional as my dads parents were nana and pop and my mum’s parents were grandparents. However my nieces and nephews call my folks Nana Meryl and Poppa Roy.

I’m just picturing her walking around going ‘duck, duck’ ROFL – okay maybe not! What about searching for Grandparent titles in other languages? I think it is Nonna in Italian. Maybe one of them will appeal.

I thought you were already Nan Jules! LOL. I have a friends children who call their grandmother Ngai (she is Ngaire) and felt she was too young to be Nana, Grandma or Gran. Congrats on your 10 years and love the photos.

Hey you … just lurking around looking for some new grandbaby pictures! So what did you decide about the name in the end … are you still Nan Jules … or did you take on Old Duck?!
